Days 16-18

So today is Monday.. the wekend was nothing big to talk about. Well Im at my appointment to get my stitches romved. Im a little nervous about it, I think its going to hurt. Ill post pic and let you all knowing w how it went after the appointment.

Day 14 & 15

Feels a lot of pins a needles in my foot and calf area which is Quite annoying. I have an appointment on monday to have the stitches removed from my calf and heel. Being non weight bearing is annoying in itself. I can't stan hopping around. My hands are hurting from all the pressure they have to move around. Did I mention that my my leg and foot itches like crazy.
Its difficult to sleep with that freakin boot on my leg, its very uncomfortable. Im gonna try to keep it on through the whole night tonight.

Day 13

Today I am attempting to cook dinner.steak,rice, and sweet peas. I finally go mu heel flushed to the back of the boot and my heel touching the bottom of the boot. Dinner came out really well thank God. i plan on taking two percocets before bed.. TYL

Day 12

I had to take 2 percocets before bed last night since I really felt the pins and needles in my foot. It is such an annoying feeling to. Now its 1:32 in the morning and the incision site where the screw was put in is really bothering member and im in a lot of pain. To me it feels like some on it pushing my heel in that spot and than letting up and doing it again. I can't wait to become weight bearing. Im tried of depending on people for help... so not me at all. Till later

Woke up around 6 in tremendous pain. Had to pop my percocets fast. My heel was on fire and throbbing. Now im sleepy.

Went back to sleep at 8AM after throwing up... a four hr nap, which i had to take my meds. This heel pain is not playing. I still feel very sick to my stomach and have a headache.

Day 11

The 1 1/2hr drive to my appointment wasn't to bad I spent it doing my make up.. I know such a long time to do makeup..but it help the time to pass. Now in just waiting to ne seen. Ill update about the appointment later and ill try to include pictures. Later
Im back my appointment went very well. It only has been 10days since surgery and my doctor said it is looking really good. I did take pictures but I used my digital camera so I will load them later. I had x-rays taken which was really weird and uncomfortable. I am still non weight bearing.
My stitches will be taken out in the next two weeks, this means no showers. I can take the air boot off only to change the bandages. I also have to wear it at night. It's lot lighter than that massive surgical cast I had on earlier. I also got a refill on my pain pills.... Thank God. 
The doctor to me I have to work on getting my foot at a perfect 90 degree angle. It hurts so bad when I try, I just have to keep working at it. I was also told no driving until I am off of the meds, and as you all know I have been drivng.. hush don't tell....lol.

Day 10

Happy Mother's Day!
Woke up today and got beautified. Did my hair,makeup,andrea painted my toes. I wore a strapless summer dress wit apeach sandal,and silver jewelry. Got plenty of complements which was lovely. 
So now we are on the road heading back to South Carolina. Still have seven hours of driving and I am already uncomfortable.
I have a appointment tomorrow morning with the doctor that did the surgery. I will be getting my actual cast put on, I hope that it is much lighter than the surgical cast I have on now. Ill be on tomorrow with picture of my heel and calf tomorrow. Till then......

Day 9

Woke up early to go shopping with my mother and auntie. Mostly for my son and also some sandals for me. My leg was so swallon today I hope tomorrow be better. Oh did I mention I havent taken any pills. Yay me

Day 8

Now my foot is on fire and I feel extra dumb for having it down that long.Now it is elevated and it still hurts. I didn't sleep well at all on my moms couch. But,  since I have a pretty high tolerance for pain im going shopping anyways. I need some cute flat sandals. Ill be back on a little later today.

Day 7

Woke up off my couch and started cleaning with my room first, I had to do it on my knees but I got it done. I love being independent.
Than i had to start preparing for my trip to Miami or actually driving. From where I leave to Miami is about a 8 1/2 hours of driving. And after a week and a day I decided to help with the drive. I started out by driving the first 2 1/2 hours given my husband a chance to eat and get some zzzz. After he took over the wheel for about 2hour his contacts started to give him problems. I believe he was more sleep more than anything else so I took back over.

Day 6

Haven't taken a pill since early yesterday morning. Drove again this morning my heel is in some pain. I notice that my leg have been swelling lately to the point where I can't straighten my leg out. My hands and under my arms are really sore from lifting my weight around not to mention this two pound cast on my leg.
Below is a picture of my "big foot" as my mom says... decided to give driving up a little since my foot was hurting and swallon.
Oh did I mention I am still looking good even with this thing on my leg.

Day 5

Had a long night... went to the hospital with my bestfriend. She had her son and I am glad I was able to be there for her but oh how I paid in pain later. My heel is still hurting.

Drove to see my bestfriebd Erica ib the hospital. Also took my first real bath today with little help frommy mom. I had to wrap my leg in a trash bag and hang it over the tub; that hot water felt so good. I had to prop my leg up immediatly after that bath. Heel stitches were on fire for a good hour. Just relaxing now.

Day 4

Incision site is in a lot of pain. My knee is really stiff from all the weight. Oh did I mention my leg is still itchy. The incision site on the back of my calf is itchy too.

Day 3

I have been very faithful to my foot elevation and pain meds. Depending on how I move my leg I can feel the stitches burn and hurt.
Call maintenance again and they actually came out and fixed the AC...yay

Day 2

12:42 pm I been in and out of it since 6:30 this morning. Foot still in a lot of pain. Oh did I say its swollen bad. My leg been itching and its aggravating that I cant scratch it. Feel like my AC isn't working it oh so hot. So now im in pain, uncomfortably hot, and itchy.its only been two days and I can't take the fact that all I can do is sit on my recliner. Foot have to be elevated for 72hr and it hasn't been 48hrs yet and im going crazy in this HOT house. I call maintenance but of course they are closed and they will return my call Monday. 

Day 1

Bored already..I am not a very dependant person,I like to handle myself ..this seems to be difficult....

3:25pm My heel is hurting so bad, it feels like its on fire.... just took a pain pill... I can't wait for it to kick in...

8:27pm My heel is in some really bad pain. I had to take 2pills because it is hurting so bad. Feels like the screws are sticking out.. I know they are not but that how it feels. These screws are so annoying. Been on my recliner all day.... my heel really hurts.....OUCH

Post Op

The surgery went well... I arrived at Roper St. Francis Hospital in Mt.Pleasant at approximately 12 and didn't leave till 8pm. My mom said that I was in surgery over a hour. So I ended up getting the calanael osteotomy and strayer procedures done on my left heel and calf ....
the last thing I remembered is taking deep breaths of air... think I took three full breaths before I was out cold.
I woke in the recovery room feeling and looking all disoriented. The recovery nurse gave me some sips of ginger ale soda and a few graham crackers. Took my first percocet. My mother was allowed in and they helped me get dressed,use the restroom,and removed my IV.  I was than wheeled done stairs and placed in my car.
It was a two hour drive from Mt. Pleasant to Beaufort Sc. (While typing this I got a ill sick and had a cup full of wendy's come up.Sorry if that was TMI)
Now im back and im feeling better actually.... Thank God for my husband and mom for there help with me,the kids and in general.
Back to business ...went to walgreens and made it there before the pharmacy was closed at 10pm.... the lady that was on shift said she could not service me be she was closed....LAZY THING...I was already hurting pretty bad in my calf and definetly my left heel area. I look across my mom at the clerk and was likens talking to you is getting me no where... Im going where I know they care and will service me THE NAVAL HOSPITAL, told my mom thank God I serve in the miltary because if I didn't i would have had to wait ill morning to get pain mess and im not sure that would have work. So there was no wait at the pharmacy window so I was in and out at Naval.
We stopped at Wendy's and head home. Of course the kids were sleep but my husband gaveme there little coloring well home cards they made me...sweet

Showtime...Surgery Day April 28, 11

At Roper St.Francis, im registering  for surgery... im nervous but I know that God is in control, with that said keep me in prayer.
I am so hungry can't wait till surgery is over so I can eat... haven't had anything since early yesterday.

Looks like I will be sleep for the surgery just spoke to the doc that will be putting me under. I wont be back on until I get in the recovery room.... wish me luck and I can use your prayers.....

Met with the Doctor today.. we are a go ... Im a lil nervous... but besides this I really have nothing else to post... Ill post Pre Op and Post Op pictures tomorrow... Keep Me in ya Prayers

Medial Calcaneal Osteotomy (Surgery April 28, 2011)

The procedure I am having done by definition is the cutting of the Heel bone and shifting toward the inside (medial). I was born flat foot, which for most people it really doesn't cause to many problems. Unlike, me most people are not  in the military. So after a deployment and four years of all the wear and tear on my feet. I decided to get the surgery done.
My surgery is planned for April 28th, which is just in two days. I am really nervous taking that I am a very independent person and having to rely on other is really out of my nature. But all in all I think in the long run Ill be OK.
Tomorrow Ill be meeting with one of my doctors to discuss how it will affect my military career short term. Ill post tomorrow and let you all know how it goes.
